2028 & 2030 National Sports Festivals: NSC Locks In Bayelsa, Kaduna as Host States

  In what will go down as another milestone for the Country's Sports development, the National Sports commission, NSC, has secured host states for the 2028 and 2030 National Sports Festivals. The 2028 Games will be held in the beautiful South South state of Bayelsa, located in the core of the Niger Delta while the 2030 Games will be hosted in the crocodile state of Kaduna. Hosting the games in 2028, will mark the first time the National Sports Festival will be staged in Bayelsa state while staging the games in Kaduna in 2030 will mark the third time the state will be hosting the festival after the 1977 and the 2009 games. Director General of the NSC, Hon Bukola Olopade, said the Government of both states have shown the required commitment and readiness to stage the Country's biggest domestic sporting competition. NSC Constitutes Organizing Team for 2027 Africa School Games

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a 21-man Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Africa School Games, slated to hold in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2027. Nigeria was unanimously announced as the host of the 2027 edition of the Games during an extraordinary session of the ANOCA Executive Committee held on the sidelines. The NSC has been proactive in putting together a world class event, which prompted its leadership to announce the LOC. NPFL Calls Out 3SC Sporting Director for Misleading Social Media Posts

In a post on the microblogging platform X, Tobi claimed that Elegbeleye as the NPFL Chairman approved stadiums with poor playing pitches for matches of the top league. He further claimed that the club players have been injured as a result of playing on poor pitches. In a letter of reprimand, Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, chided Tobi for peddling wrong information capable of conveying the wrong perception of the person of the Chairman and the league itself. NWFL Launches Mandatory Digital Registration and Licensing Portal for 2025/26 Premiership season

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has launched a compulsory digital portal for player registration and club licensing, beginning on Friday, November 14, 2025 ahead of the 2025/26 Premiership season.  The initiative was announced in a statement by the league’s Media Director, Samuel Ahmadu, as part of ongoing efforts to modernise administrative processes and strengthen regulatory compliance across the league. Confirming the development, Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi said the digital platform represents a significant advancement in the NWFL’s governance standards.  “This platform is designed to eliminate manual delays, minimise documentation errors, and provide real-time oversight of all registration activities. Remo Stars outclassed Nakamura FA 5-0, while Robo Queens defeated Dannaz Ladies 4-1 to reach the final. Remo Stars Ladies 5-0 Nakamura FA  Remo Stars Ladies skipper, Subomi Ogundele broke the deadlock of the encounter a minute before halftime despite a torrid first 45 minutes. Robo Queens, Pacesetter Queens got their first win of the campaign after witnessing defeats in their first match, while Dannaz Ladies and Remo Stars maintain a perfect record in the competition. 2025 NPFL-winning coach  Daniel Ogunmodede  will  no longer continue as Remo Stars manager , with the club currently sitting  17th on the table  and holding  three games in hand . The  Super Eagles assistant coach , who penned a  three-year contract extension  with the Ikenne-based side in  August 2024 , departs with  two seasons left  on his deal. Ogunmodede, fondly known as  Ijaball , guided Remo Stars to historic heights, including their NPFL title triumph and CAF inter-club appearances, but a difficult start to the new campaign has now brought his tenure to an abrupt end.
