Queen’s Cup: Semifinal Spots Sealed 👑⚽




The semifinal spots of the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney have been sealed after a breathtaking group stage where four teams advanced to the last four.


Dannaz Ladies, Remo Stars Ladies, Nakamura FA and Robo Queens cemented their places in the semifinal after a rigorous group campaign.


Nakamura FA 3-0 DreamStar Ladies 


Nakamura FA proved critics wrong to book a place in the Semifinal of the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney. The Mushin based side, thrashed DreamStar Ladies 3-0.


Seyi Oyetola broke the deadlock of the game with an emphatic finish in the 15th minute, Ibitayo Adeniyi doubled the Black Arrows lead in the 58th minute while Amidat Fasasi put the icing on the cake in the 86th minute.


Robo Queens 9-0 Phoenix Queens 


Robo Queens went on rampage as they cruised past Phoenix Queens 9-0 to book a place in the last four of the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney.


Mariam Yahaya continued her scoring spree by scoring four goals consecutively (3rd, 13th, 21st, and 26th) to take her tally in the competition to nine goals in three games. Tosin Rafiu grabbed a hat trick (72nd, 82nd, 83rd), while Opeyemi Ajakaiye (32nd) and Shakirat Jimoh (74th) scored a goal each.


Dannaz Ladies 1-0 Pacesetter Queens 


Miracle Omeke 88th minute goal was enough to seal a perfect group stage outing for Dannaz Ladies as hosts, Pacesetter Queens bid the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney goodbye in the group stage.


After topping group B, Dannaz Ladies will face Robo Queens who came second in group A in the semifinal of the competition.


Remo Stars Ladies 6-0 Wazbak Queens 


Remo Stars Ladies on rampage to crush Wazbak Queens 6-0 in their last group game to clinch nine points in three matches.


Cynthia Mega opened the floodgate of goals in the 8th minute, Blessing Isigbo and Tobiloba Sharafa combined to score the second and third goal while Chiamaka Ojialor hat trick inflicted an heavy defeat on Phoenix Queens.

NSC Constitutes Organizing Team for 2027 Africa School Games

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a 21-man Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Africa School Games, slated to hold in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2027. Nigeria was unanimously announced as the host of the 2027 edition of the Games during an extraordinary session of the ANOCA Executive Committee held on the sidelines.
