OYO FED CUP: 3SC TEAM B STAGE STUNNING COMEBACK TO REACH NEXT ROUND

Shooting Stars Team B produced a thrilling and spirited comeback on Matchday Two of the 2026 Oyo State Federation Cup, overturning a two-goal deficit to secure qualification at the Ebedi Stadium, Atori-Iseyin.



The encounter, which lived up to its billing, saw The City Pride FC take firm control in the early stages, with Sulaimon Rasheed handing his side a deserved 1-0 lead before halftime.


The momentum remained with City Pride immediately after the break, as Kehinde Alaba doubled the advantage in the 47th minute, leaving the Oluyole Warriors’ cadet side with a mountain to climb.



However, displaying resilience and determination, Shooting Stars Team B gradually found their rhythm and intensified pressure in search of a way back into the contest. Their persistence paid off in the 69th minute when Olafisoye Olalekan inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, sparking renewed hope for a comeback.


With time running out and tension mounting, the game took a dramatic turn in stoppage time. Deep into added minutes, Adebayo Taiwo rose highest to connect with a superb header, netting a dramatic 92nd-minute equalizer that sent the game into a penalty shootout


Riding on the momentum, Shooting Stars Team B held their nerve from the spot, edging The City Pride FC 4-3 to seal a memorable victory. They will now advance to the next round, where a highly anticipated clash against Oye Olohun FC awaits on April 21.
