OYO BOTAVED CHAIRMAN EULOGISES NSE FOR DONATIONS TO SCHOOLS


The Chairman of the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED) Honourable Elder Ayoade Adekola has commended the act of magnanimity of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) Oluyole branch for donating hand tools items for the use of students of Government Technical College, Orita-Aperin, Ibadan.


The Chairman of the Board, Elder Ayoade Adekola gave the commendation in Ibadan shortly after the Career Talk programme organized by the Nigeria Society of Engineers (Oluyole Branch) in collaboration with the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED).


Elder Ayoade Adekola, eulogized the team of Engineers for the laudable initiative of providing the tools worth Thousands of Naira for the use of the students, emphasizing that other societal groups and Associations within the state should emulate this noble gesture by impacting on their immediate society and making meaningful contribution towards development of education in their respective areas.

Earlier, while delivering his lecture in the School Hall, the President of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, (Oluyole branch) Engineer Adeoye Adedeji delivered a comprehensive speech to commemorate the Annual celebration of National Engineering Week with the theme entitled "Your Future Skills that Matter Beyond Your Technology Careers". He highlighted further that the students preparing to become employable, valuable and successful must focus in developing skills such as: Good Interpersonal Skills; Networking; Effective Time Management; Personal trading and development, consistency and also learn to say NO to peers pressure, time wasters, negative relationships and activities that may distract them from achieving their goals in life.


The lecturer concluded that the graduation is not the finish line, it is the starting point, adding that the students should invest in their careers, relationship and success.

During the formal presentation of the tools items to the Principal of the school, Mr. Taofeek Babalola, the President of the chapters applauded the Oyo State Government under the able leadership of Governor, Seyi Makinde for the relentless efforts and genuine commitments to the growth of education, emphasizing that the Society of Engineers extended their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Technical School in order to complement the efforts of the State Government in ensuring the sustainability of the Technical Education and to prevent it from going into extinction at this auspicious time that the government at all levels are striving to enhance the scientific and technological sector.

The Principal of the school, Mr. Taofeek Babalola expressed gratitude on the behalf of the State Government, Teachers and Students of the school for the act of magnanimity and uncommon philanthropic gesture which will not only enhance learning and teaching processes but also improve the pedagogics skills.
