Reacting to the development, APC elder statesman Timothy Olukunle Sanda expressed strong disappointment, describing the alleged assault as both unfortunate and embarrassing.
“It is not proper for an Honourable, someone people are looking up to, to assault another person,” he said.
Sanda disclosed that the meeting at the state secretariat was expected to be routine, making the reported outcome particularly shocking.
“Oyebade told me he was invited and asked to come alone. I encouraged him to go because I never expected such a thing could happen there. It is a big shame.”

According to Oyebade, the meeting—meant to address disputes over the Lagelu Local Government party structure—escalated from a verbal disagreement into a physical altercation.
He accused Olafisoye Akinmoyede, a member of the House of Representatives, of orchestrating the attack.

“Some people said Oyebade bandaged his hand in my house—do I have a nurse at home?” he questioned.

“There is a hospital report and a police report. These are facts that cannot be ignored.”

Sanda has urged APC leadership and relevant authorities to launch an immediate investigation and enforce disciplinary measures where necessary.
“This matter must be properly investigated. The right thing must be done.”
He warned that failure to act decisively could further damage the party’s credibility and deepen internal mistrust.
