OYSSC MANAGEMENT RECEIVES GOLD MEDALISTS OF THE 2025 CIVIL SERVICE GAMES
On Friday, December 19, 2025, the victorious Ministry of Youth and Sports Female Football Team, winners of the 2025 Civil Service Games, paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Oyo State Sports Council at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, where they were formally presented with the 2025 Civil Service Games Trophy.
The grand finale of the 2025 Civil Service Games was held on December 11, 2025, at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex.
The event was graced by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, H.E Engr. Seyi Makinde, alongside the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, among other dignitaries.
The final match was highly entertaining and competitive, as the Ministry of Youth and Sports faced the Ministry of Health. The game ended 1–1 at full time and was decided via a penalty shootout, where the Ministry of Youth and Sports emerged victorious with a 4–2 penalty win, resulting in a 5–3 aggregate score to clinch the title.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a remarkable milestone by winning the first-ever female football title at the Civil Service Games.
The team was warmly received by the Acting General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Mr. ’Tunde Ajibike, alongside the Director of Organization, Dr. Vivian, and the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Sanbe.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, the Acting General Manager congratulated the team for their exceptional achievement. He encouraged them to remain focused, continue striving for excellence, and aim for more gold medals in future competitions.
Mr. Ajibike expressed pride in the team’s historic feat, noting that it was a great honour for the Sports Council that the trophy returned to the sports sector. He also commended Coach Ilerika for his dedication and urged him to sustain the momentum by organizing friendly matches to keep the players fit and competitive ahead of future tournaments.
He concluded by wishing the team a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, while encouraging them to maintain their winning spirit.
