NYG ASABA 2025: TEAM OYO WINS FIRST GOLD MEDAL IN AYO OLOPON (TRADO)



Team Oyo has recorded its first gold medal at the ongoing 9th National Youth Games tagged “Asaba 2025”.


The duo of Kehinde Nosirat and Makinde Mokinat struck gold in the Ayo Olopon female doubles event, held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.


Earlier in the day, Kehinde Nosirat had already secured a bronze medal in the female singles category, before teaming up with Makinde Mokinat to deliver Oyo’s breakthrough gold.



This marks the state’s maiden top-podium finish at the Games, adding to the medal tally that had earlier seen silver wins in weightlifting.


Congratulations to Kehinde Nosirat and Makinde Mokinat for making Oyo State proud! 🎉

*NSC Confirms Key Dates for 2025 National Youth Games* The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed the official schedule for the 2025 National Youth Games, as the nation counts down to the much-anticipated multi-sport event to be hosted by Delta State. According to the Commission, the Games will run from August 26 to September 6, 2025, bringing together the best young talents from across the country to compete for glory and national recognition. Over the past few months, the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have been actively inspecting and certifying facilities and venues, to ensure they meet the required standards for hosting a successful championship. NPFL Slams Heavy Sanctions on Kano Pillars Over Fan Violence in Matchday 8 Clash

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a series of severe sanctions on Kano Pillars Football Club following violent incidents during their Matchday 8 fixture against Shooting Stars SC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Sunday, October 12, 2025. In a summary jurisdiction notice dated October 13, 2025, and signed by NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the league found Kano Pillars guilty of multiple breaches of its Framework and Rules relating to crowd control, security, and misconduct. According to the NPFL, the club failed to provide adequate and effective security during the match, allowing unauthorized individuals to gain access to restricted areas and the field of play. The notice also cited the club for failing to control its supporters, who were accused of harassing players, throwing dangerous objects, and assaulting match officials and the visiting team.
