9th NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES: TEAM OYO SHINES AT OPENING CEREMONY IN ASABA

Oyo State athletes made a vibrant and colourful impression at the opening ceremony of the 9th National Youth Games, which held today at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.

The Games, which officially commenced yesterday with the screening of athletes across various sports by technical officials, came alive as Team Oyo stepped out in style. Dressed smartly in state-branded tracksuits, the athletes proudly participated in the ceremonial march-past before top dignitaries, including officials of the National Sports Commission, Delta State Sports Commission, members of the Local Organizing Committee, and other key stakeholders.

Earlier in the day, some of Oyo’s athletes had already begun their quest for glory, featuring in the table tennis event ahead of the formal opening ceremony.

With their colourful parade and early participation, Team Oyo signaled strong intent—not just to compete, but to make a mark at this year’s National Youth Games.
