KOLAPO ISHOLA VANGUARD ADOPTS OCTOBER 7 AS KOLAPO ISHOLA DAY
The Kolapo Ishola Vanguard (KIV) has adopted October 7 as Kolapo Ishola Day, as part of efforts to preserve and promote the legacy of the late former Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Chief Kolapo Olawuyi Ishola.
The decision was reached at a meeting of the Vanguard held at the residence of the former governor in Ikolaba GRA, Ibadan, and convened by Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun Ishola, popularly known as Saybaba.
The meeting brought together members and stakeholders of the Kolapo Ishola Vanguard to deliberate on activities and initiatives aimed at sustaining the ideals, values and contributions of the former governor.
Following extensive deliberations, members reached a consensus to designate October 7 annually as Kolapo Ishola Day, providing an opportunity to honour his memory, celebrate his contributions to Oyo State and reflect on the values of leadership, service and humanity associated with his legacy.
The Vanguard said the observance would also provide a platform for members and supporters to engage in activities that promote community development, humanitarian service and other initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people.
According to the organisation, the full programme of activities lined up for Kolapo Ishola Day will be unveiled in due course, as preparations continue.
The Vanguard further reiterated its commitment to nurturing the legacy of Chief Kolapo Ishola by promoting selfless service, unity, integrity, compassion, empowerment and people-oriented leadership.
The organisation described the decision as an important step towards ensuring that the memory and ideals of the former governor remain relevant to present and future generations.
