With less than five days to the official launch of the Pillar of Sports Youth Development Foundation, endorsements continue to pour in from eminent personalities across Oyo State as renowned publisher, philanthropist, and community leader, Mogaji Bowale Oluwole Arisekola, has thrown his weight behind the initiative.
The Ibadan-born media entrepreneur, who is the Publisher of The StreetJournal Newspaper and Magazine and the Mogaji Ajenigi-Eye of Yemetu-Oje, Ibadan, described the establishment of the Foundation as a visionary and timely intervention that will make a lasting impact on youth empowerment and sports development in Oyo State.
Receiving the Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Temitope Ademola Obideyi, Oluwole commended his unwavering commitment to grassroots sports development, noting that initiatives of such magnitude are essential to unlocking the immense potential of young people through sports.
He observed that sports remain one of the most effective platforms for youth empowerment, economic growth, and social development, urging governments, corporate organisations, and well-meaning individuals to invest more in programmes capable of identifying, nurturing, and transforming talented young athletes into global ambassadors.
Oluwole, who was honoured with the prestigious "Most Patriotic Ibadan Indigene" award during the 2025 Ibadan Cultural Festival by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of Ibadanland, said Nigeria possesses abundant sporting talents and must deliberately harness the enormous opportunities the sector offers.
He applauded Obideyi for translating his passion into meaningful action through the establishment of the Foundation, describing the initiative as a legacy project that has the potential to positively influence generations of young athletes.
While encouraging the former Nigerian international to remain steadfast, Oluwole urged him not to be discouraged by challenges, but to see every obstacle as an opportunity for growth and greater accomplishments.
According to him, consistency, vision, and selfless service will continue to distinguish the Foundation, expressing confidence that the Pillar of Sports Youth Development Foundation will, in no distant time, earn national and international recognition for its contributions to youth and sports development.
The Pillar of Sports Youth Development Foundation will be officially launched on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Academy Suite, Moremi Hall, Oke Ado, Ibadan, where sports stakeholders, government officials, football administrators, coaches, and youth development advocates are expected to converge for what promises to be a landmark event dedicated to building champions, transforming lives, and inspiring generations.
