Lagos Seasider have emerged champions of the Southwest 4x4 Handball Championship 2026 after defeating Oluyole Warriors of Oyo State 29–22 in the final played at the Handball Court, Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.


The highly anticipated final attracted handball enthusiasts, coaches, sports administrators, and supporters from across the Southwest region as the two best teams of the tournament battled for the championship trophy.


Lagos Seasider started the match with great intensity, taking control of possession and converting their scoring opportunities with remarkable efficiency. Despite strong support from the home crowd, Oluyole Warriors struggled to contain the fast transitions and coordinated attacks of the Lagos side.


The first half ended with Lagos holding a narrow advantage, but they raised their level after the break, stretching the lead through quick counterattacks and disciplined defending.


Oluyole Warriors showed determination and fought to reduce the deficit, but Lagos Seasider maintained their composure and closed out the game with a convincing 29–22 victory.

The victory completed an impressive tournament for Lagos Seasider, who finished the championship unbeaten and confirmed their status as the strongest team in the competition.

Earlier in the day, Osun United secured third place after defeating Mindscope Handball Academy 4–3 on penalties following a 19–19 draw in regulation time.
