NFCA OYO STATE CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR PEACE, UNITY, AND COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT TO FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
The Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Oyo State Chapter, Coach Adeyemo Ayodeji Charles, has called on all members of the association across the state to embrace peace, unity, and selflessness in the interest of genuine football development in Oyo State.
In a message addressed to coaches, elders, councillors, leaders, members of the association, the Grassroots Development Unit, stakeholders, academy owners, and football enthusiasts across the state, the Chairman emphasized that sustainable football development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and cooperation.
According to the Chairman, differences in opinions and interests are inevitable in every organization, but such differences must never be allowed to hinder the collective progress of the association and the growth of football in Oyo State.
He called on every coach from all zones of the state to put aside personal interests and the habit of selfishness that often obstructs progress, urging members to embrace understanding, reconciliation, and unity.
"This is the time for us to put aside differences, personal interests, and the habit of selfishness that often hinders our collective progress. Let us embrace understanding, mutual respect, and genuine reconciliation for the benefit of football development in Oyo State," he stated.
The Chairman further noted that when the development of football is placed above individual ambitions, an enabling environment is created for young talents to flourish and for football structures to grow.
Quoting the Yoruba proverb, "Igi kan kò dá igbó ṣe" (One tree does not make a forest), he stressed that no individual can single-handedly develop football and that success can only be achieved through collective effort and shared responsibility.
He further urged members to return to the grassroots, discover and nurture young talents, strengthen football structures, and rebuild relationships among coaches and stakeholders.
The Chairman expressed confidence in the immense football potential of Oyo State, stating that with sacrifice, loyalty, discipline, and unity, the association can write a new chapter of progress and excellence.
He concluded by calling on all members to speak peace, embrace unity, and work together for genuine football development in Oyo State.
"Peace is the foundation of progress, and unity is the strength of football."
