Southwest Zonal Elimination for U-15 National Youth Games – Day 2 Results



The Southwest Zonal Elimination for U-15 ball games, ahead of the upcoming National Youth Games in Asaba (August 26 – September 6, 2025), continued on Day 2 at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The competition is organized by the National Sports Commission and hosted by the Oyo State Government.

Football

Male
Team Oyo defeated Team Ekiti 4–1 in the second leg, following up on their 3–0 win from Day 1. In the final, Oyo edged Team Lagos 1–0 to claim first place, with Lagos finishing second.

  • Osun 3–0 Ogun (walkover)

  • Final: Oyo 1–0 Lagos

Female
Team Oyo fell short against Lagos in both legs, losing 4–0 yesterday and by the same scoreline today, missing out on qualification for the National Youth Games.

  • Ogun 1–0 Ekiti

  • Lagos 4–0 Oyo


Abula

Male
Team Oyo lost a close contest to Ondo (2–1), before falling 2–0 to Ogun, which ended their qualification hopes.

Handball

Male
Oyo’s handball team put up a spirited fight but narrowly lost to Lagos 16–15 in a thriller. Lagos went on to beat Ogun 29–21 in the final.

  • Final: Lagos 29–21 Ogun

Female

  • Osun 4–13 Lagos

  • Final: Lagos 4–18 Ondo


Day 2 wrapped up with exciting displays of talent and determination from all participating states, as attention now shifts to preparations for the National Youth Games in Asaba.
