NPFL Unveils 2025/26 Season Calendar


The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has released the official schedule for the 2025/26 season, setting the stage for another thrilling campaign of top-flight football across the country.

The season will kick off on Friday, August 22, 2025, with clubs eager to begin their quest for silverware. A mid-season break is slated from December 30, 2025, to January 6, 2026, giving teams a brief respite before the second half of the campaign.

The mid-season transfer window will run from January 1 to January 30, 2026, providing an opportunity for clubs to reinforce their squads ahead of the title run-in.

The curtain will fall on the season on Sunday, May 24, 2026, when the champions will be crowned and relegation battles decided.

With the dates now locked in, excitement is building among NPFL fans as the countdown to kick-off begins.

NSC Constitutes Organizing Team for 2027 Africa School Games

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a 21-man Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Africa School Games, slated to hold in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2027. Nigeria was unanimously announced as the host of the 2027 edition of the Games during an extraordinary session of the ANOCA Executive Committee held on the sidelines. The NSC has been proactive in putting together a world class event, which prompted its leadership to announce the LOC.
