Two-Day Ibadan Basketball  Championship Kicks Off The 2026 Ibadan Basketball Championship tipped off today, February 6, 2026, at the Basketball Court of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. This fifth edition of the Ibadan Basketball Championship is sponsored by Ibadan Ex-Basketball Players in Diaspora, demonstrating their continued commitment to the growth and development of basketball in Oyo State. A total of six male teams and two female teams are participating in the competition. ‎ ‎ Remo Stars have been charged for breaching of the NPFL Framework & Rules in the course of their Matchday 20 fixture vs Ikorodu City on January 14, 2026. ‎ ‎The champions failed to provide adequate & effective security during their home game vs Ikorodu City leading to a brawl between fans of both clubs & resulting in injuries of away fans & damaged vehicles. ‎ ‎Remo Stars also failed to ensure proper conduct of their supporters, resulting in the harassment & intimidation of the match officials. ‎ ‎Remo Stars supporters also threw objects onto the pitch, resulting in several stoppages during the match. ‎ ‎Furthermore, Remo Stars supporters displayed barbaric behaviour by bringing dangerous objects & weapons into the stadium, capable of bringing the game to disrepute. ‎ ‎The club is hereby fined N2m for failing to provide adequate & effective security, & another N1m for throwing objects towards the field of play. ‎ ‎Remo Stars will also pay a fine of N1...
