  Poland 2026: Falconets now to battle Senegal at MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta   The Confederation of African Football has approved a request by the Nigeria Football Federation for a change of venue of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup third round, first leg qualifying match between Nigeria and Senegal, scheduled for Saturday, 7th February 2026.   NFF’s Director of Competitions, Ruth David, confirmed that the match will now be played at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.   According to her, the NFF requested for a change of venue as a result of the deteriorating state of the playing pitch of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan that had earlier been approved for the match, and which actually hosted the Falconets’ second round, second leg clash with the Rwanda U20 girls in September last year.   In view of this development, the two-time FIFA World silver-medallists, who had been training in Ibadan ahead of the match, are expec...

NPFL Charges Remo Stars Over Alleged Breach in Matchday 20 Fixture

‎ ‎ Remo Stars have been charged for breaching of the NPFL Framework & Rules in the course of their Matchday 20 fixture vs Ikorodu City on January 14, 2026. ‎ ‎The champions failed to provide adequate & effective security during their home game vs Ikorodu City leading to a brawl between fans of both clubs & resulting in injuries of away fans & damaged vehicles. ‎ ‎Remo Stars also failed to ensure proper conduct of their supporters, resulting in the harassment & intimidation of the match officials. ‎ ‎Remo Stars supporters also threw objects onto the pitch, resulting in several stoppages during the match. ‎ ‎Furthermore, Remo Stars supporters displayed barbaric behaviour by bringing dangerous objects & weapons into the stadium, capable of bringing the game to disrepute. ‎ ‎The club is hereby fined N2m for failing to provide adequate & effective security, & another N1m for throwing objects towards the field of play. ‎ ‎Remo Stars will also pay a fine of N1...

OYSG DISLODGES   SELLERS OF FAIRLY USE CARS AND ARTISANS OPERATING  IN  STADIUM PREMISES The  dealers of fairly used cars known as " Tokunbo" , automobile mechanics, sellers of trucks and  some illegal occupants at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex have been  evicted   by the State government.       The Oyo  State  Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaja Wasilat Adegoke  made this disclosure in Ibadan today.         The Commissioner remarked that " the dislodgement of the Tokunbo sellers and the operations of the ARTISANS within the Stadium is not only depriving the bonafide users  patronizing the stadium for sporting activities  the opportunity to park their vehicles  but also making the environment to be rowdy and almost inaccessible  for the Sports men and women ".           The Commissioner stated further that the management  convened an en...
